The Finance and Administration Assistant will report to the Finance and Administration Manager and take responsibility for ensuring efficient and effective provision of administrative and financial services support in CABI.

The successful candidate will collect administrative and financial data and check upon conformity with the policy and quality standards in place at CABI; perform integration of administrative and financial information; provide support in staff contractual issues; manage assets and facilities usage, maintenance and servicing; undertake reconciliations; and provide timely administrative and financial information, reports, feedback and recommendations for reporting and budget monitoring.

He/she will have a first degree in business management with at least 3 years relevant experience in management in a cross-cultural environment. Professional accounting qualification
will be an added advantage and ability to use multiple ICT systems and software is desirable.

The candidate shall have excellent administrative and communication skills with ability to prioritise and manage diverse workloads, use initiative and proactive thinking and pay attention to details. A good level of project management skills in a cross-cultural environment is essential.

The individual should be dependable and trustworthy, with high level of confidentiality and ability to cope well with changing environment.

Position: Project Officer / Nutritionist

Brief Responsibilities include:

  • To conduct nutrition assessments and surveys, identify vulnerable groups and communities and coordinate nutrition promotion intervention through a PD/Hearth model in the target community of Msambweni district.

Feed The Children (K) is expanding its HIV/AIDS program coverage to Kajiado central District and requires a person who has wide experience in the HIV/AIDS field to coordinate project activities in the area.

The project emphasizes the delivery of HIV preventive services to the community. In addition, the project will increase care and support to people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS in order to mitigate the effects of the epidemic.
Project Coordinator

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of all project activities to ensure the project produces the results identified in the Annual Work Plan.
Key Performance Areas:
1. Liaise and consult regularly with the relevant local authorities, community leaders and beneficiaries, collaborating partners, and other stakeholders where appropriate, in conjunction with the Program Manager, in relation to the planning, designing and implementation of all the community-based project activities in the assigned area.
2. Coordinate t h e mobilization o f People Living with HIV/AIDS and Orphans Vulnerable Children to enable them identify viable activities geared towards self-reliance;
3. Prepare periodic project work plans and budgets as required
4. Make regular visits to all beneficiary sites within the project area to assess and verify existing
beneficiary caseloads, project needs, problems, delivery and utilization of project inputs and support to project beneficiaries, and advises the parties concerned accordingly;
5. Supervise the Project staff, Community volunteers/educators and take appropriate action to ensure efficient and effective services are delivered
6. Participate in developing monitoring and evaluation tools as part of FTC HIV/AIDS program team

8. Represent FTC in district Health coordination meetings as necessary
Qualifications

  • University degree in social sciences, public Health or related disciplines
  • Substantial knowledge of development and understanding of the HIV/AIDS issues;
  • At least 5 years of e x p e r i e n c e in the field of HIV/ AIDS project management
  • Previous work with Non-Governmental organizations
  • High integrity, motivated, self-driven, team player and mature person able to work with minimum Supervision.

HIV Prevention Officer

Feed The children HIV/AIDS program requires a HIV Prevention Officer to work in Mailwa & Maparasha locations of Kajiado Central District.
Duties and responsibilities:-

  1. Develop Innovative HIV prevention interventions for comprehensive HIV/AIDS information and education to the vulnerable, most at risk, youths in and out of school and the general population in the target areas.
  2. Organize community mobilization activities within the communities and train/assess performance of peer educators and home-based care volunteers.
  3. Establish and maintain partnership and good working relations with youth groups, women and men groups to facilitate implementation of planned activities.
  4. Collaborate and network with relevant partners and stakeholders to enhance service delivery to the community.
  5. Monitoring behavioral change of youths and other groups benefiting from the HIV interventions.
  6. Establish linkages/ referral with other organizations for youths, the HIV infected and the general community with various needs.
  7. Participate in HIV prevention -related coordination/stakeholders meetings on behalf of the organization.
  8. Set targets and indicators for implementation and evaluation of the interventions respectively, determining quality of outcomes and prepare monthly reports.
  9. Disseminate and distribute HIV/AIDS materials to target audience, to improve knowledge and understanding and motivate behavior change.
  10. Organize and facilitate HIV Testing and Counseling (HTC) services to the communities.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social/Health sciences or its equivalent
  • Experience with and technical knowledge of current HIV/AIDS issues and trends.

He/she will set technical direction for social support undertaken by the project, including the development of support groups.

  • Conduct baseline studies using participatory approaches to identify the number of persons as well as orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) afflicted and affected by HIV/AIDS so as to determine their capacities, available resources and coping mechanisms.
  • Develop and implement social support programs, work with Community Health workers and caregivers to provide counseling, home-based care and psychosocial support to persons living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV) including orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) afflicted and affected by HIV/AIDS.
  • Provide leadership using participatory community methods to improve the communities’ understanding of HIV/AIDS and their role in care and support of the infected people.
  • Develop strategies to reduce or eliminate stigma and discrimination related to HIV/AIDS.
  • Develop training/ education on HIV/AIDS for the people infected with HIV, their families and the community.
  • Establish support groups and counseling services to provide individual and group therapy to the PLHIVs
  • Initiate Income generating activities for selfreliance
  • Encourage the youth to attend voluntary counseling and testing (VCT) to reduce risk behaviors aimed at decreasing stigma as more people know their HIV status.
  • Prepare periodic progress reports and annual reports showing achievements against planned targets as well as providing justification for performance variances and areas of improvement
  • Identify and network with the relevant Government Ministries, local NGOs, CBOs and FBOs to enhance service delivery, referral and effective response to the beneficiaries.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, or closely related discipline
  • Sound technical knowledge and experience of programs designed to prevent HIV.
  • Experience with and technical knowledge of current HIV/AIDS issues and trends.
  • Training on Behavior Change Communication

Our client, in the gaming industry and licensed by the Betting Control and Licencing Board (BLCB) seeks to fill the position of a Finance Manager to carry out day to day operations of the organization in finance and administration.

Job Purpose
  • Provide best practice financial management and coordination of for the company's finance functions (including branches) working with your team to deliver, monthly budgeting, cash flows & forecasting requirements.

  • Deliver the Company’s statutory financial reporting requirements, including analysis of the results and presentation to the Board of Directors.
  • Responsible for overall supervision of all Finance Department personnel to include accounting, auditing, cage and purchasing divisions.
  • Reviews, creates, or reconciles all financial reports according to policies and procedures; to include investigating, reporting, and correcting anomalies.
Key Deliverables
  • Managing and directing the financial activities within the property including payroll, general ledger, disbursements, accounts receivable, analysis, revenue accounting, budgeting and forecasting
  • Managing and directing all personnel assigned to accounting/finance, purchasing and cage/credit/count functions
  • Performs all monetary transactions presented, adhering to all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls and government regulations.
Requirements
  • Experience in working with cash (Forex Bureau, Bank, Casino Finance)
  • Positive attitude and customer service skills with good spoken and written English
  • Good mathematics knowledge; logical thinking & ability to concentrate in a pressure environment
  • Fully proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook).
Competences
  • Honest and trustworthy with an ethical approach to renewal relationships and business dealings;
  • Developed accounting technical skills, knowledge of accounting practices in the gaming industry to provide high levels of professional advice with little supervision;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, capability to carry out deep financial presentations with clarity at board level.
  • Record and delivering of strong financial controls
  • Honest and trustworthy with an ethical approach to renewal relationships and business dealings;
  • Able to prioritize and manage own workload, while supervising others
  • Hands-on knowledge of contemporary HR issues and practices, able to develop and motivate staff.
  • Assertive enough to demand action with developed negotiation skills
  • Demonstrate passion for the Company and enthusiasm.
Education and Experience
  • University degree
  • MBA or working towards it
  • Accounting qualifications, CPA 6
  • Gaming industry experience an added advantage
  • Excellent IT skills
  • 3-4 years experience
  • Less than 40 years of age
  • IT savvy

Company Surveyor

Location: Mumias Town, Kenya

Duties:

  • Conduct land survey, determine boundary lines, retracement of government survey lines and re-establishment of land survey corners
  • Handle land legal related procedures issues on subdivision of land, acquisitions, purchases, sale of land , land title deeds, leases, or other legal documents as per standard practice and policies of survey of Kenya and ministry of land requirements
  • Collect field data, by use of a total station, download data to a form that can be used for plotting maps, and establishment of area
  • Plot field data using CAD/survey software
  • Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites
  • Direct or conduct surveys in order to establish legal boundaries for properties, based on legal deeds and titles
  • Write descriptions of property boundary surveys for use in deeds, leases, or other legal documents
  • Plan and conduct ground surveys designed to establish baselines, elevations, and other geodetic measurements.
  • Search legal records, survey records, and land titles in order to obtain information about property boundaries in areas to be surveyed
  • Calibrate surveying equipment in order to maintain their accuracy.
  • Engineering survey works
  • Make topographical surveys
Preferred Requirements:
  • University degree holder in Surveying and Photogrammetry
  • MS Office
  • Ability to use Mapinfo software and Leica Geo tools (knowledge of standard land survey software’s will be an added advantage)
  • Ability to use a total station in surveying works
  • Must be duly licensed by the Institute of surveyors of Kenya
  • Post qualification experience of at least three years.
  • Possession of a valid vehicle driving license as an added advantage
