SENIOR BB Tx PLANNING ENGINEER

Reporting to the Senior Manager- Tx Planning & Support, the holder of the position will model, plan, design, optimize and management of reliable transport/transmission network systems in support of timely backbone transmission requirements.

Key Responsibilities -

• Modeling and planning of Transport systems/network and respective capacity planning and analysis.
• Take a lead role in the development and application of packet and cell based transport in safaricom network.

Minimum requirements -

• University degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering;
• 5 years experience in telecommunications environment of which 3 years must have been involved in installations/commissioning and planning of major telecom projects especially in the transmission field.

Reporting to the Principal Product Development Engineer, the holder of the position will engage in activities relating to software development and evolution of the Safaricom data products including integration to business systems. Software development duties include but not limited to specification, design, development, validation, documentation and evolution of the applications and associated services; performance management; ensuring integrity of the services; maintenance and fault management; and research on new software technologies
