Program Co-ordinator (Nairobi Based) 
IRC Somalia is currently looking for a Program Co-ordinator who will work under the supervision and guidance of the Country Director, Somalia, and in line with the country strategic plan, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for strategic planning, program development, program design and implementation of activities in Somalia. 

The position will work closely and network with a range of stakeholders including donors, Government departments, INGOs and local NGOs and UN bodies.
 

The position will link closely with the field based program and operation team members, and various technical units based at the NY, UK and Nairobi.
 

The PC will oversee the grants unit (Grants manager and volunteer) as well as sectoral program managers/ coordinators based at Nairobi.
 

Grants Co-ordinator (Nairobi Based) 

IRC Somalia is currently looking for a Grants Co-ordinator who will work under the supervision and guidance of the Program Coordinator, Somalia, the Grants Manager will be responsible for ensuring efficient grants management for the country program.
 

The position will link closely with the program and operation team members at Nairobi and field offices, and various technical units.
 

The Grants Manager will also line manage the volunteer based at Nairobi.
 

Health Co-ordinator (Nairobi Based) 

IRC Somalia is currently looking for a Health Coordinator based in Nairobi with frequent travel to the existing and new program sites in Somalia
 

We need a person with excellent technical skills, strategic thinking and vision, innovative problem solving skills, program coordination experience and someone who can work well within the overall context of insecurity and access challenges in Somalia.
 

Logistics Officer (Nairobi Based) 

IRC Somalia is currently looking for a Logistics Officer who will work under the supervision of the Logistics Coordinator.
 

He / she should be a strong team member who can assist in the continued development of the logistics team and contribute to the further effective running of IRC activities in Somalia.
 

He/She will be based in Nairobi with frequent visits to the field and may eventually join a field location in Somalia.
 

He / she will be responsible for effective management and support of the Logistics team currently based in Ga’alkacyo, Somalia.
 

The Logistics Officer is a key position and carries responsibility for the integrity of the IRC’s logistics system.
 

Logistics must be able to rapidly response to the programs and operations needs, whilst ensuring best practices and maintaining audit compliant records.
 

Specific responsibilities include supervising the procurement process, warehousing process, assets management, vehicles and transport management.

Senior IP/MPLS Support Engineer - Safaricom


Reporting to the IP Network Support Manager, the holder will be  primarily responsible for maintenance of the Core IP Backbone network (IP/MPLS) and the Enterprise Network (Enterprise Edge and Aggregation) to ensure that SLA’s are met for all services, execute work orders as instructed from the planning team and be part of a 24 x 7 team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure system and service availability of the network on 24x7 basis
  • Managing of network faults and 2nd level escalations
  • Projects assigned by the team manager and Work orders raised by the Planning team
  • Ensuring optimum performance of the network at all times with KPIs met
  • Reports for network activities
Minimum requirements
  • Bsc in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical/Computer Engineering required (CCIE R&S certification is desired; CCNP/CCIP certification a must)
  • 4+ years of direct Network Engineering/Network Support experience in a busy Service Provider environment
  • In depth understanding of QoS, Diffserv Traffic shaping and traffic QoS policy implementation
  • Experience with network management and monitoring tools (e.g. Cisco LMS/ISC, Ethereal, Cacti, Zabbix)
  • Articulate high level understanding of multi-services platforms, routing protocols ISIS / RIP / RSVP / OSPF / BGP / iBGP / and troubleshooting down to packet level
  • Knowledge of QoS techniques and hands on experience on implementing MPLS services.
  • Very strong hands-on skills with extensive experience in the troubleshooting and solving complex network related issues.

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT- FINANCIAL SYSTEMS & ANALYSIS - Safaricom

Reporting to the Manager - Financial Systems & Analysis the job holder will be responsible for executing relevant tasks required in the development and enhancement in the use of the business integrated system application i.e. Oracle and incorporate the various business processes.
Key Role Responsibilities
  • Evaluate  and document  all the business transactional processes that impact on Financial Accounting;
  • Mapping of the documented processes to activated ERP applications;
  • Identify simple and efficient methods of extracting information to assist in the financial reporting;
  • Identify modules in the ERP relevant to the business that require to be implemented and justify their value add to the business;
  • Collect information and prepare written proposals for implementation of enhancements to the ERP usage;
  • Participate in the preparation of detailed project plans for execution of approved proposals within tight deadlines;
  • Assist in the co-ordination of the execution for the approved projects;
  • Prepare progress reports for project monitoring;
  • Co-ordinate training between the users and developers in Financial Accounting.

 Minimum Requirements
  • Qualified Accountant CPA (K)/CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent with Honours degree from a recognized university. An IT qualification will be an added advantage;
  • 4-5 years Accounting experience in a well run company of which 2 should be at a supervisory level;
  • Hands on experience working with a computerized accounting system preferably with ERP application;
  • Demonstrate proficiency in project management skills and competencies;
  • Thorough understanding of the International Financial Reporting Standards and experience in application and enforcement of the standards at the workplace;
  • Experience in co-ordination of project activities to completion;
  • Ability to critically analyse processes and systems for enhancement of efficiencies and performance;
  • Experience in preparation and supervision of basic accounting ledger entries and extraction of the Trial Balance and financial statements;
  • Direct involvement in Corporate reporting for financial and management information;
  • Ability to relate well with both internal and external customers and work in teams;
  • Proactive, confident, self- drive for results  with the ability to work under pressure and tight schedules/deadlines and with minimum supervision;

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT TREASURY - Safaricom

Reporting to the Treasury Operations Manager, the job holder will conduct bank reconciliations to ensure all bankings are verified daily and correctly captured in Oracle, and conclusively address queries from Retail Centres and Banks.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure preparation of daily bank reconciliation of all the bank accounts maintained by the company and implement auto bank reconciliations for all the bank accounts when availed;
  • Participate and utilize the auto reconciliations and eliminate manual reconciliation of the bank accounts;
  • Ensure timely resolution of issues to do with the transmission of data between the banks and download into Oracle application;
  • Ensure data on actual revenue cash receipts, revenue expenses and capital expenditure is captured accurately;
  • Generate Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Reports for review on a timely basis;
  • Ensure timely and accurate monitoring of all payments made to the bank via the electronic payment solution and ensure charges levied are as per contract terms with the solution provider;
  • Conduct monthly revaluation of foreign denominated bank balances and loans;
  • Generate reports for all funds put on call by the Treasury section on a timely basis and
  • Conclusively address queries from Retail Centres and Banks;
  • Ensure all correspondence for the Treasury section is filed and readily available as and when required;
  • Ensure that monthly bank charges and interest income are prepared for review.
Minimum Requirements
  • Qualified Accountant CPA (K)/CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent with an Honors degree from a recognized university;
  • 3-4 years accounting experience preferably in an international company
  • Experience in preparation of monthly bank reconciliations preferably using automated systems and revaluation of foreign exchange for reporting;
  • Excellent negotiation skills;
  • Thorough understanding of the International Financial Reporting Standards;
  • Submission of accurate, timely and relevant information for statutory and internal audit purpose;
  • Demonstrate analytical skills and ability to monitor and explain trends and variances
  • Working experience in Oracle application;
  • Self- drive for results.
