Get your interviewer’s name and pronunciation right
It is not only embarrassing, but also a bad show when you keep addressing the interviewer by the wrong name. It is equally bad when you pronounce the name badly. The question that this raises: If you failed to get a simple name right, what else would you get wrong if employed? Pay keen attention when the interviewer introduces himself or herself to make sure you get such little but important details, correct.

The early bird catches the worm.

Did you know that the way you think is the way you are and the way you should be? While in college or university, the last two semesters should be spent job hunting while the previous two semesters should be spent looking and researching for information about employment practices in the industry.
The earlier you start looking for a job the better for you because it means you will stay afloat more about the industry standards. If you are a student and you read this article today, then start going through the internet at least two hours a day. Now that schools, colleges and universities have free internet labs, you will have no excuse once you get out. Just as a piece of information, more than 83% of employers are now opting to put their job adverts online. If you can’t use internet, do not claim to be a computer savvy employee.

Did you know?

1.   Most people are miserable in their jobs because they are complacent?
2.   Accounting is one of the most saturated specialties today which take the supply up thus salaries go down?
3.   IT is the fastest growing job market?
4.   If you access the internet from work, it will be easier for you during interviews?
5.   An employer does not care for you but cares more about results?
6.   Your manager (senior staff) is under more pressure to deliver results than you are?
7.   Your employer is not your manager or senior executives, they are also employed like you unless in a case of a partnership?
8.   97% of people prefer to be employed rather than create employment for others?
9.   Only less than 200,000 people in this country make six figure salaries?
10.                The risk of starting a business is very high but the fruits are very sweet?

Realize yourself for progressive career development

One of the best ways to continually grow your career skills is to persistently challenge your limitations. Self-realization is the foundation upon which you begin a continuous self development agenda in your career. Understand your values, know your weaknesses and capabilities, and then confidently work towards expanding your positive attributes and skills, while suppressing every weakness you may have.

Setting goals generates commitment.

Goal setting at the workplace is a vital tool for managing your performance. It helps you to monitor progress in a tangible manner. Setting periodic goals to score at the end of each period – like, say, every six months – enables you to observe the trend of your performance at work. This will provide a platform for informed adjustments that will keep you on track towards achieving your ultimate career resolutions.
