HR Industrial Relation Job Kenya.

Our client, a subsidiary of an Anglo-Dutch conglomerate, is involved in the production of tea, mainly for export. It is the third largest tea company in the world and is one of the largest commercial enterprises in Kenya owning twenty (20) tea estates and eight (8) factories. It grows, processes and packages black, green and special teas for markets in Europe, US, Pakistan, Japan, the Middle East and Australia.

It is one of the single largest private sector employer in Kenya, employing more than 25,000 people.
 

The company is looking to hire a Generalist in HR, with solid experience in Industrial relations with prospects
 
of growing into the HR Director role for the subsidiary.
 
The purpose of the job is to:

* Co-develop industrial relations strategies, policies and processes and monitor the implementation.
* Develop, implement and monitor strategy for employee engagement and communication, ensuring alignment with the business objectives.
* Ensure that line management are given sound guidance on the implementation and maintenance of industrial relations issues.
* Monitor and manage the administration of all disciplines/grievance issues as per discipline/grievance policy.
* Facilitate building of managerial capability on employee relations and coach managers to handle disciplinary issues through facilitation of training programs.
* Liaise with COTU, FKE and Ministry of Labour on all issues relating to Employment laws and Practice and take part in CBA negotiations.
* Support interface between the business, industry, government regulations and CBA staff relating to staff issues.
* Liaise with legal section and company lawyers on all legal issues relating to industrial relations.
* Drive industrial relations programs.
* Develop, implement and monitor policies and practices to improve the ability to manage diversity effectively.
* Benchmark and implement best industrial relations practices and implement accordingly.
Key Requirements:
* A degree in HR/ Business related degree and a Higher Diploma in Human Resources Management
* Minimum of 2-3 years General HR experience.
* Experience in labour laws and industrial management is a MUST.
* A seasoned practitioner with strong personal credibility gained through a track record of high integrity and ability to deliver.
* Team leader and team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
